Objective: To characterize the visual alterations generated by the Computer Visual Syndrome related to the use of video terminals in workers who are exposed for a long time to these devices through a review of the bibliography. Methodology: this research is of a quantitative type that included primary studies for its elaboration, through a search of bibliographic material in the different databases. The design is observational of the systematic review type that obtained information based on the scientific evidence available in the last 10 years. Thematic development: in the results for thematic development, it was found that the most frequent symptoms are: burning, tearing, excessive blinking, eye redness, dryness, difficulty in focusing vision and increased sensitivity to light. Likewise, the conditions of the workplace generate visual computer syndrome. Finally, strategies for the prevention and management of computer vision syndrome were implemented. Conclusions: the visual affections generated by the visual computer syndrome associated with the exposure of video terminals during working hours were characterized. It was determined that the conditions of the workplace directly affect visual health, generating visual computer syndrome.
