Abstract

In this book we mention the contemporary history of the Province of San Luis Bertrán of Colombia, we will be able to follow the traces left behind by some of its most relevant events. The articulating axis continues to be that of restoration. In the following pages, this process will be approached starting from what the historian has called "the French period of the Province of Colombia". Then, the renewal movement of the apostolate with the laity through the creation of a Third Order of "simple Catholics" is presented in great detail. Finally, there is a brief but useful review of the road that was traveled in view of the restoration of St. Thomas University. All this highlights the challenges and transitions that the Order underwent to maintain its mission in force in the Colombian context, where it was implanted almost five centuries ago.
