Introduction: Accuracy in the measurement of the definitive working length is a vital step in endodontic treatments. The electronic method in recent decades has stood out as the most accurate method. The pre-widening of the coronal third is intended to provide an access route to the initial apical file (LAI) and has been planned as an adjuvant in the chemo-mechanical preparation protocol Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of Denjoy® Ifive locators (IF), Air-pex by Eighteeth®(AP) and Propex-Pixi by Dentsply®(PP) to determine the working length in teeth with and without coronal pre-reaming. Materials and Methods: 40 extracted single-rooted teeth were used and their working length without pre-enlargement and with pre-enlargement was determined by visual measurement and 3 LEA; taking the visual measurement as reference and the measurements of each device were compared. Measurements were calculated using the Shapiro-Wilk test, for homogeneity of variances with the Levene test. Paired t-student test and data were also compared using the ANOVA test and Dunnet's post-test of multiple comparisons. Results: PP had an accuracy of 98.6%; IF had a precision of 98.2% and AP had a precision of 96.8% accuracy. Pre-spreading improved measurement accuracy for AP and had no relevance for PP and IF measurements.
