Evaluación del potencial del sector turismo en el embalse de Topocoro ubicado en el departamento de Santander, para el desarrollo del turismo sostenible

Abstract

This research, whose general objective was to evaluate the potential of the tourism sector in the Topocoro reservoir located in the department of Santander, using multivariate analysis techniques, to build a management tool, allowed knowing directly from tourists and tour operators, the current level of tourist attraction in terms of competitiveness, innovation, tourist satisfaction, basic conditions, efficiency and effectiveness in the development of ecotourism and/or sustainable tourism. The instrument used was validated by experts and presented a Cronbach's alpha greater than 0.90. The Google Forms platform was used to apply the instrument. The processing was carried out using Excel, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) V27 and WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis). The statistical techniques used were factor analysis and association rules that, combined with a descriptive analysis, allowed determining a medium level in the factors analyzed regarding the tourist potential of the Topocoro reservoir in the development of tourist activities in this place. It was possible to establish that the basic conditions, competitiveness, and satisfaction are components that condition factors such as innovation, efficiency, and efficacy. The topic addressed in the study could be explained by more than 50% of the total variance explained.
