Introduction: Current lifestyles have caused an increase in sedentary activities and a decrease in physical activity, which can lead to negative effects on health from the child population to the adult population. That is why, the present research study seeks to understand school problems in issues related to the level of physical activity, the number of hours of sleep and prehensile strength.
Objective: To identify the relationship between the amount of sleep, the level of physical activity and the prehensile strength in schoolchildren of a district educational institution.
Methods: A positive correlation was found between the variables of physical activity and hours of sleep, while a negative correlation was found for grip strength based on Pearson's correlation. Similarly, it was found that 47 young people out of 178 are in categories such as underweight and overweight. For its part, it is found that the mean of the PAQ-C is 2.41 on a scale of 1 to 5, which reports a low level of physical activity in the study participants.
Results: A relationship was found between the variables of number of hours of sleep, physical activity and prehensile strength, from the equation Average hours asleep L to V = 5.494 + (2.94 * FPm/P) + (0.72 * PQC C). Similarly, it was found that 46 young people out of 178 are in categories such as underweight and overweight. For its part, it is found that the mean of the PAQ-C is 2.41 on a scale of 1 to 5, which reports a low level of physical activity in the study participants.
Conclusion: A relationship is found between the variables in question from Pearson's connection analysis, which indicates that the greater the physical activity, the number of hours of sleep is positively affected.
