The culture of care has gained relevance during recent decades, as a consequence of the emergence of infectious diseases that have had a significant impact on society, mainly around respiratory infections which, moreover, are prevalent in the Cundiboyacense highlands. The establishment of care and self-care relationships are learned during life, and it becomes important that the protection of well-being in situations where there is exposure to pathogens is promoted from the teaching of human biology in the classroom, through constructivist methods such as problem-based learning (PBL) and the use of case studies as a central problem, which also encourages students to develop critical thinking, cooperative work, autonomy, among others. This research exposes the design of a pedagogical proposal aimed at promoting the culture of care in secondary school students, using a story as a case study and supported by PBL as a pedagogical model that, also, strengthens the values of identity, fraternity and transcendence in students. To achieve this objective , the results of the work carried out with the students of a seventh grade group in a private school in Tunja were used as inputs for the design of the proposal, through their context diagnosis, presentation of case studies across PBL, which allowed them to analyze, debate and propose solutions and strategies of care and self-care against acute respiratory infections, generating contributions to the corporate values of the institution.
