Diabetes Mellitus is a disease characterized by a chronic hyperglycemia, which has a high prevalence worldwide. This disease generates multi-organ involvement. At the hospital level, diabetes is associated with increased mortality, longer hospital stays and increased risk of infection. Glucocorticoids use has been related to the development of intrahospital hyperglycemia, especially in diabetic patients, at it is one of the therapies used during the SARS CoV 2 pandemic, an increase in intrahospital hyperglycemia rates is to be expected. This study is aiming to describe the patients with de Novo diabetes mellitus diagnosis during the pandemic, seeking to generate hypotheses that will improve the diagnosis and prognostic of the diabetes patients in the hospital.
