Introducción: El Asma es la enfermedad crónica más común en niños y se
caracteriza por recurrentes episodios de sibilancias, tos y sensación de falta de aire.
Mientras la crisis asmática es la exacerbación de estos síntomas que puede

desencadenarse por diferentes factores. Objetivo: Determinar los factores
intrínsecos y extrínsecos relacionados a la gravedad de crisis asmática en
escolares del Hospital Nacional Sergio E. Bernales, de Marzo 2020 a Marzo 2021.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio Observacional, retrospectivo de corte transversal.
La muestra fue de 124 escolares de 6 a 12 años. Se recolectó la información con
una ficha de recolección de datos. Resultados: El 61% fueron crisis asmática
moderadas, el 24% crisis severas y un 15% crisis leves; el sexo que predominó fue
el masculino con un 66%; entre las edades de 6 a 7 años con un 46%, el 57%
fueron eutróficos y un 23% y 18% con sobrepeso y obesidad respectivamente, la
atopia más frecuente fue rinitis alérgica con un 23%, en relación a las infecciones
respiratorias, se encontró neumonía en un 20% y durante las estaciones de
primavera e invierno en un 38% y 25% respectivamente. Los sibilantes (98%),
dificultad respiratoria (86%), tos (59%) fueron las manifestaciones clínicas más
frecuentes. Conclusiones: Los factores intrínsecos y extrínsecos que tuvieron una
relación significativa con la crisis asmática fueron el sexo, la obesidad/sobrepeso,
la atopia como rinitis alérgica, la neumonía y las estaciones del año como invierno
y otoño.
