Resumen
La infección de herida quirúrgica es la segunda infección intrahospitalaria en frecuencia. El objetivo del presente estudio es conocer la incidencia y los factores perioperatorios asociados a Infección de herida quirúrgica de abdomen. Este estudio, es un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, cuya muestra fue de 46 casos incidentes obtenidos por muestreo aleatorio simple. La edad promedio 37 años; el sexo masculino (24 pacientes) fue el más afectado; el estado nutricional obeso (14.9%), desnutrición (3.4%) al igual que la forma de ingreso de urgencia (69.6%), el tipo de operación (apendicectomía 65.2%), tiempo operatorio mayor de 60min. (45%), técnica operatoria convencional (27.16%) y el grado de contaminación contaminada y sucia (75% y 100%) fueron las variables con mayor porcentaje de casos de infección de herida quirúrgica.
