Estudio taxonómico y morfológico de las especies del género Cecropia Loefling en el sector del lago de Yarinacocha, Pucallpa – Perú

El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en los bosques secundarios de los alrededores del Lago de Yarinacocha en Pucallpa - Perú, para lo cual se hicieron colecciones botánicas de las especies del género Cecropia Loefling en diferentes épocas del año, con la finalidad de contar con órganos vegetativos y reproductivos para la identificación, por ser las especies de este género dioicas y observar las diferencias en ambos sexos. El estudio corresponde a una investigación descriptiva, para la toma de datos es necesaria la observación directa de las especies a estudiar; la población correspondió a todas las especies del género Cecropia Loefling ubicadas a los alrededores del Lago de Yarinacocha, en las cuales se lograron encontrar cuatro especies, de todos los ejemplares colectados del género que poseían características muy distintas unas de otras, y se encontraban en proceso de floración y/o fructificación, lo cual constituyó nuestra muestra botánica para el estudio. Según la identificación taxonómica realizada corresponden a las siguientes especies: Cecropia englerian C. latiloba, C. membranácea y C. sciadophylla, elaborándose con ello un mapa de dispersión. Según información dada por moradores de la zona, la corteza fresca y sin hervir de las especies estudiadas tienen uso como diurético para curar enfermedades de la próstata; tuvo importancia en el pasado como fuente de materia prima para fabricación de pulpa para papel, y en el aspecto ecológico sirve como alimento de la fauna silvestre.
