El estudio es de diseño no experimental de corte transversal, descriptivo correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 135 adolescentes, el escenario se realizó en el puesto de salud Micaela Bastidas. La técnica fue la entrevista estructurada, y los instrumentos utilizados fueron el cuestionario y la escala de valoración de autoestima. Los resultados fueron: el 58.5% corresponde a la adolescencia propiamente dicha, 57.0% son de sexo femenino, el 60.7% se encuentra en el nivel de educación secundario y un 79.3% solo se dedica a sus estudios. Según los resultados del cuestionario evidencia que el 65.2% tiene un nivel de conocimiento bueno sobre los cambios físicos que se produce en la adolescencia, siendo el género femenino el más destacado con 37.8%; y los resultados de la escala de autoestima muestra que el 62.2%, tienen un nivel de autoestima alto. La prueba de hipótesis (p=0.047) determinó que existe influencia significativa del nivel de conocimiento sobre los cambios físicos y en el nivel de autoestima del adolescente.
