Caracterización ecológica y económica de bolaina blanca (Guazuma crinita C. Mart.) en la cuenca media del río Huallaga

La producción y comercialización de bolaina blanca (Guazuma crinita C. Mart) en la
región amazónica del Perú es una de las principales actividades económicas para los
productores forestales debido a su rápido crecimiento, pero la falta de estudio y
conocimiento sobre la caracterización ecológica y económica en la cuenca media del
Río Huallaga fue la razón principal de estudiar el manejo, comportamiento y
aprovechamiento en 100 unidades de evaluación dispersados en 25 sectores
procedentes de la provincia de Leoncio Prado en los distritos de José Crespo y
Castillo, Pucayacu, Pueblo Nuevo y Santo Domingo de Anda; y la provincia de
Marañón con los distritos Cholón y La Morada. Como resultado existe un potencial
forestal maderable de 32,249 individuos con un volumen rollizo de 15,031.003 m3 en
un área de 657.289 ha; el rendimiento fue 49.064 ind./ha, área basal de 2.498 m2
/ha y
volumen de 22.868 m3
/ha; hubo diferentes sistemas de producción forestal, como
sistemas agroforestales (58%), barbechos (17%), macizo (15%), linderos (5%),
cortinas rompevientos (4%) y sistemas silvopastoriles (1%); donde se aprecia poca
práctica de las labores silviculturales pese a la existencia de áreas aptas para
reforestar, existe falta de promoción y apoyo del Estado; asimismo, se definió los
niveles de cadena valor productiva, con un beneficio económico de 755,150.00 soles
para los productores.
