Actividad hipoglucemiante del extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Lactuca sativa L. (lechuga) en ratas albinas diabéticas inducidas por aloxano

La diabetes mellitus es una de las enfermedades crónicas más comunes en casi
todos los países y la carga continúa aumentando, especialmente en los países
en desarrollo. Las intervenciones de tratamiento actuales se han visto
obstaculizadas por inconvenientes como los altos costos, la inaccesibilidad y los
posibles efectos adversos. Por lo tanto, es necesario evaluar las plantas
medicinales por sus efectos farmacológicos para apoyar los medicamentos
existentes en el tratamiento de la diabetes. El presente estudio se realizó para
evaluar la actividad antihiperglucémica de hojas de Lactuca sativa L. (lechuga)
en ratas albinas.
Objetivo del estudio: El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar los efectos
del extracto hidroalcoholico de hojas de Lactuca sativa L. (lechuga), sobre el nivel
de glucemia. Métodos: Se preparó el extracto hidroalcoholico de Lactuca sativa
L. (lechuga). Se seleccionaron ratones albinos cepa Holtzman de machos un
peso de 300-350 gramos para los experimentos. Los ratones se agruparon en
seis grupos para estudiar el efecto hipoglucemiante del extracto. La diabetes fue
inducida por una inyección intraperitonial única de aloxano monohidrato, a dosis
(180 mg / kg). Luego se midieron los niveles de glucosa sanguínea antes (dia 0),
durante (día 1 y 2), del experimento farmacologico. El tamizaje fitoquímico
preliminar se realizó mediante procedimientos de prueba química comunes y el
estudio de toxicidad aguda se realizó según las directrices de OCDE 425. Los
resultados se analizaron utilizando ANOVA a una via, seguido de las pruebas
post hoc de Tukey con comparaciones múltiples, con un nivel de significancia del
5%. Resultados: El extracto hidroalcoholico hojas de Lactuca sativa L. (lechuga),
posee efecto hipoglucemiante en ratas albinas diabeticos. El extracto
hidroalcoholico a dosis de 600 mg / kg y 900 mg / kg mostro disminución
significativa sobre la glucemia en las 48 horas.
