Asociación del género sexual con la prevalencia de talón cuspídeo en incisivos laterales superiores en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa de la ciudad de Lima en el año 2019

Resumen
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la asociación del
género sexual con la prevalencia de talón cuspídeo en incisivos laterales
superiores en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa de la
ciudad de Lima en el año 2019. Metodología: Diseño de tipo descriptivo,
transversal y prospectivo con un enfoque cuantitativo. Los datos fueron
analizados mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Se contrastó la
hipótesis con la prueba estadística Chi Cuadrado de Pearson, aplicando el
paquete estadístico SPSS. Materiales: Se evaluó clínicamente a 278
alumnos que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. La ficha de
recolección de datos fue llenada haciendo una evaluación clínica realizada
por el evaluador. Resultados: Los datos recolectados evidenciaron que la
prevalencia de talón cuspídeo fue de 7.55% (21 estudiantes) de los cuales
16 estudiantes fueron de sexo masculino y 5 estudiantes de sexo femenino.
La prevalencia de talón cuspídeo tipo III fue de 5.04%, la prevalencia de
talón cuspídeo tipo II fue de 2.51% pero no se registró ningún caso del tipo I.
Conclusión: Tras el análisis estadístico se identificó que no existe asociación
del género sexual con la prevalencia de talón cuspídeo en incisivos laterales
superiores. The aim of this investigation was to determine the association of sexual
gender with the prevalence of cusp heel in upper lateral incisors in high
school students of an educational institution in the city of Lima in 2019.
Methodology: Descriptive, transversal and prospective type design with a
quantitative approach. The data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential
statistics. The hypothesis was contrasted with Pearson Chi Square statistical
test, applying the statistical package. Materials: 278 students who met the
inclusion and exclusion criteria were clinically evaluated. The data collection
form was filled with the completion of a clinical evaluation done by the
evaluator. Results: The data collected showed that the prevalence of talon
cusp was 7.55% (21 students) of which 16 students were male and 5 were
female. The prevalence of talon cusp type III was 5.75%, the prevalence of
talon cusp type II was 2.51% but ether was no case of type I. Conclusion:
After the statistical analysis, it was identified that there is no association of
the sexual gender with the prevalence of cusp heel in upper lateral incisors.
