Resumen
El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la relación entre el Índice de Bolton y los tipos de maloclusión según la clasificación de Angle. Para cumplir con el objetivo planteado, se utilizó el método científico básico
realizando una investigación de alcance correlacional, que empleó un diseño no experimental – transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 70 pacientes que solicitaban primera consulta en ortodoncia en la Clínica
Dental Oquendo, Tarma 2021. Los resultados que se obtuvieron demostraron que, la maloclusión con mayor frecuencia (50,0 %) fue la de tipo I, seguido de la maloclusión de tipo II (37,1 %) y terminando con la de
tipo III (12,9 %). Los resultados de los análisis de Bolton Total, indicaron que el 55,7 % de los pacientes presentó exceso de masa inferior, mientras que los resultados de los análisis de Bolton Anterior, dejaron saber que el
85,7 % de los pacientes, también presentó exceso de masa en el maxilar inferior; al realizarse las pruebas estadísticas con la prueba de correlación Chi cuadrado de Pearson, arrojaron en su mayoría valores mínimos de
0,05. Se concluyó que el Índice de Bolton no se relaciona de manera relevante con los tipos de maloclusión según la clasificación de Angle en los pacientes con dentición permanente atendidos en la Clínica Dental
Oquendo, Tarma 2021.
