El presente trabajo de investigación está enfocado a un estudio de radicales libres operados
por los POA y la interacción que tiene con el contenido de sulfatos en aguas de mina
Objetivo: Determinar la factibilidad de los Procesos de Oxidación Avanzada (POA) en los
tratamientos de aguas de mina con contenidos de sulfato para su consecuente remoción
de éstos. Métodos: Se realizó un enfoque cuantitativo ya que es secuencial, con un nivel
descriptiva-correlacional empleando investigación bibliográfica y el modelo computacional
HSC (OUTOTEC), software que permitió realizar los cálculos termodinámicos de una
manera sencilla. Resultado: El método que se utilizó en el trabajo de investigación
demostró que los radicales libres de sulfato de Procesos de oxidación avanzada no son
significativamente factibles en los tratamientos de aguas con contenido de sulfatos ya que
muestra la correlación de 0.469, correlación media. Conclusiones: Los sulfatos en aguas
de mina no tiene una relación con los radicales sulfatos, sin embargo; debido a su gran
potencial de oxidación puede influir en los metales pesados observándose en el simulador
HSC - OUTOTEC, todavía existen varios desafíos para la activación del persulfato, aún se
debe indagar más en literatura científica y se propone la próxima necesidad de un estudio
para promover la implementación a una gran escala de estos enfoques.
