Relación entre la inclinación de grupa e inserción de cola con el índice de Caslick en yeguas de la raza caballo peruano de paso

El objetivo de la presente Tesis fue determinar si existe relación entre la
inclinación de grupa y la inserción de cola con el índice de Caslick en las
yeguas de la raza Caballo Peruano de Paso.
Se realizaron mediciones morfométricas para determinar el índice de
Caslick (producto de la longitud efectiva vulvar “l” por la inclinación vulvar “a”),
inclinación de grupa (ángulo respecto al eje horizontal de la línea definida por
los puntos medios de la tuberosidad coxal y del trocánter mayor del fémur) e
inserción de cola (determinada según su posición con respecto al eje horizontal
que cruza la tuberosidad coxal) en yeguas participantes del LXX Concurso
Nacional Oficial de Caballos Peruanos de Paso (n = 90).
Se encontró que el ángulo de inclinación de grupa promedio fue de
37,21° ± 4,78°; la mayoría de yeguas presentó inserción de cola alta (53,3%), y
el índice de Caslick promedio fue de 42,31 ± 35,14. Más del 90% de yeguas
presentó una conformación vulvar clasificada como “buena”. Se concluyó que no existe relación entre la inserción de cola y el índice de Caslick (p > 0,05), ni
correlación entre la inclinación de grupa y dicho índice (Rho de Spearman =
0,061; p > 0,05).
