Factores asociados a trastornos del estado del ánimo en adultos mayores de once comunidades altoandinas del Perú 2013-2016

Objetivo: Determinar los factores asociados en los trastornos de ánimo en adultos mayores de once comunidades altoandinas. Materiales y métodos: El estudio fue realizado en residentes mayores de 60 años de 11 comunidades alto-andinas de Perú. Las variables principales fueron el tamizaje de depresión según test de Yesavage ultracorto, el cual se definió como un score de 3 o más positivos de 5 preguntas en total y Auto-reporte de depresión, que utilizó la siguiente pregunta: ¿Se siente frecuentemente triste o deprimido? Además se recolectó datos socio-demográficos, presencia de Síndromes Geriátricos y Comorbilidades. Se realizó un análisis bivariado usando análisis de regresión, Chi cuadrado y técnica de t de student| para los resultados. Resultados: La población de estudio fue de 371 participantes. Con un 40.7% de residentes que presentaban depresión según Test de Yesavage y 37.47% según el Auto-reporte sobre depresión. Los factores asociados que aumentaban la probabilidad de sufrir depresión según el Test Yesavage era la presencia de Síndromes Geriátricos y un tener Auto-reporte positivo y para el Auto-reporte de depresión eran la presencia de Síndromes Geriátricos y presentar alguna Comorbilidad. Conclusiones: Existe una cantidad relevante de adultos mayores con depresión en zonas comunidades Altoandinas, el porcentaje encontrado es muy similar a otras comunidades Latinoamericanas. Nuestros resultados nos muestran una asociación entre depresión y la presencia de Síndromes Geriátricos y Comorbilidades.
