Habilidades sociales y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes de instituciones educativas de Arequipa

Resumen
En este estudio se analizan las manifestaciones de las habilidades sociales y
el consumo de alcohol en una muestra de adolescentes de dos instituciones
educativas de la ciudad de Arequipa, con la finalidad de valorar las relaciones
entre ambas variables.
Para ello se tomó una muestra probabilística de 500 escolares (79.8% mujeres
y 20.2% varones) de los colegios Santa Rosa de Lima y Virgen del Carmen,
a quienes se les aplicó la Escala de Habilidades Sociales y el Alcohol Use
Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Se trata de un estudio de tipo básico,
cuantitativo y correlacional, que implicó el uso de pruebas estadísticas
paramétricas y no paramétricas según la normalidad de los datos.
Se reportó que existe una correlación inversa, baja y significativa entre las
habilidades sociales y el consumo de alcohol en los escolares evaluados, con
diferencias significativas según el sexo, la institución educativa de
procedencia y el grado de estudios. Los resultados son objeto de análisis en
el acápite de discusión de acuerdo con la información consultada.
