El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación entre estilo de vida, depresión y el deterioro cognitivo en usuarios del Centro Integral del Adulto Mayor en Villa El Salvador. La muestra está constituida por 140 usuarios mayores de 60 años de ambos sexos. Se utilizó el test FANTASTICO, la Escala de depresión geriátrica de Yesavage y el Mini examen cognoscitivo en la versión de Lobo. Los resultados demostraron que existe relación entre las variables estudiadas (R2=.39, p< .001). Por otro lado, más de la mitad del grupo evaluado presenta un nivel de estilo de vida algo bajo o en zona de peligro (65.7%). Con respecto al rango de edad, se evidencia que el grupo etario de 75>, presenta un mayor nivel de riesgo (23,1%). Además, se halló que 9 de cada 10 personas tiene algún nivel de depresión (leve, modero y grave). También, se encontró que 2 de cada 5 usuarios sufren deterioro cognitivo; y de acuerdo al grado de instrucción, el 70.5% de personas analfabetas tiene deterioro cognitivo a nivel leve, moderado o grave. Finalmente, el modelo de regresión lineal, indica que la variable estilo de vida y depresión en conjunto explican o predicen el 39.4 % del deterioro cognitivo, evidenciando su relación.
