This investigation proposes the identification and description of the psychosocial risk factors
presented by the female personnel of the transit department of the National Police at a personal,
labor and social level. The participants belong to the transit department of the National Police of
Peru, Cusco. A qualitative methodology was used, with a phenomenological focus; data collection
was carried out through the semi-structured interview. The results are organized in three dimensions
that pose seven psychosocial risks. Among these we find the dimension at the personal level, which
includes the risks of interference from personal problems at work and the spaces reduced by the
overload of work to share with the family. The second dimension is at the labor level, which includes
the psychosocial risks of dangerous situations at work, inequality of institutional norms for women,
restrictions in the expression of ideas in the work environment. And the last dimension at the social
level, which presents the psychosocial risks of misunderstanding and prejudices of society in the
face of the role of the police and aggressive behaviors on the part of the population.
Key words: Psychosocial risk factors, female staff.
