This research seeks to determine the effect of the transfers made by the Cusco Tourist
Ticket, administered by the Cusco Cultural Tourist Service Committee - COSITUC, on
public spending in the budgetary programs 0127: Improving the competitiveness of
tourist destinations in Peru and 0132: Enhancement and social use of cultural heritage.
The research is correlational, a quantitative research approach is used and the research
design is non-experimental and longitudinal. Information on budget spending from the
Ministry of Economy and Finance and from the COSITUC transparency page is used.
The main results show that the monetary transfers of the Tourist Ticket - COSITUC
have positively affected public spending on tourism competitiveness. This effect is
reflected in the increase in the level of public spending and the percentage of execution
in the Budget Program for the Enhancement and Use of Cultural Heritage (PP 0132).
On the other hand, no significant effects have been found in the level of public spending
or percentage of execution in the Budget Program for the Improvement of the
competitiveness of tourist destinations (PP 0127).
