Es de conocimiento ancestral el uso de plantas medicinales en el tratamiento y/o
cura de diversas enfermedades y que debe ser contrastado científicamente con
parte del presente trabajo de investigación “Estudio comparativo de la efectividad
antibacteriana in vitro entre el aceite esencial de Minthostachys mollis y Gluconato
de clorhexidina al 0.12% sobre Peptostreptococcus anaerobius y Prevotella
melaninogenica” siendo prioridad adquirir el aceite esencial de Minthostachys mollis
a través de la empresa INKA COMEX S.A.C. y Gluconato de clorhexidina al 0.12%
posteriormente se logró la adquisición de Peptostreptococcus anaerobius (ATCC
27337) y Prevotella melaninogenica (ATCC 25845) por intermedio del laboratorio
GenLab del Perú S.A.C.
Se procedió a realizar la reactivación de cada una de las cepas que luego fueron
sembrados en placas petri que contenían el medio de cultivo Agar Schaedler, los
discos fueron previamente embebidos con 10 ul de Aceite esencial de Minthostachys
mollis al 100% y Gluconato de clorhexidina al 0.12% siguiendo el método de KirbyBauer y luego se procedió a colocarlo en medio de anaerobiosis por un tiempo de
168 horas.
Transcurriendo el tiempo establecido se procedió a la observación e interpretación
de los resultados con la medición de los halos de inhibición. Para realizar el análisis
se utilizo la prueba de Varianza, mediante el cual se pudo concluir que la efectividad
antibacteriano del gluconato de clorhexidina al 0.12% es mayor que el aceite esencial
de Minthostachys mollis.
