Efectividad antibacteriana de dos cementos endodónticos mezclados con agua destilada y Gluconato de Clorhexidina al 2 % frente a cepas de Enterococcus Faecalis - estudio in vitro

Resumen
El propósito de esta investigación fue evaluar la efectividad antibacteriana de
dos cementos endodónticos mezclados con agua destilada y gluconato de
clorhexidina al 2 % frente a cepas de Enterococos faecalis. Se realizó un
estudio experimental in vitro, longitudinal, analítico y prospectivo. La muestra
estuvo constituida por 80 especímenes divididos en 8 grupos, de los cuales 4
fueron colocados en placas Petri que contenían Agar Mueller Hinton inoculado
con Enterococcus Faecalis y 4 grupos fueron colocados en placas Petri que
solo contenían el Agar sin la inoculación bacteriana que se consideró como
control negativo. En los resultados se encontró que no hubo diferencias
estadísticamente significativas en el periodo de predifusión, la máxima
capacidad antibacteriana (p<0,05) se evidenció a las 24 horas de evaluación a
diferencia de los controles negativos respectivos. El Cemento Portland
combinado con gluconato de clorhexidina al 2 % fue estadísticamente
significativa al compararlo con los otros grupos de evaluación. En conclusión,
todos los cementos endodónticos presentaron efectividad antibacteriana siendo
el Cemento Portland el que destacó por presentar mayores zonas de inhibición
de crecimiento bacteriano cuando se comparó con el Agregado de Trióxido
Mineral (MTA) mezclado con gluconato de clorhexidina al 2% y agua destilada
respectivamente.
