Resistencia a la compresión del mortero sustituyendo al cemento por la combinación de polvo de concha de abanico (Argopecten purpuratus) y ceniza de cola de caballo (Equisetum arvense) en 10% y 15%

La finalidad del presente proyecto de investigación fue evaluar la resistencia a la compresión del mortero sustituyendo al cemento en 10% y 15%, con polvo de concha de abanico y ceniza de cola de caballo con respecto a un diseño común. Esta investigación trató sobre la sustitución parcial del cemento en el mortero de albañilería, primeramente, se estudió los materiales que lo conforman y luego se realizó la sustitución en porcentajes anteriormente mencionados. Se tomó en consideración las características químicas, mecánicas y físicas de dichos elementos que lo componen. Luego se evaluó la resistencia a la compresión del mortero hecho básicamente de cemento y arena con proporciones como lo indica la norma técnica peruana 334.051, seguidamente se realizaron morteros a base de cemento, polvo de concha de abanico, ceniza de cola de caballo y arena.
La concha de abanico y cola de caballo estuvieron sujetas a una activación térmica mediante calcinación a 890° C por 2 horas y 390° C durante 2 horas respectivamente, teniendo en cuenta la temperatura arrojada por el análisis térmico diferencial (DTA); y a una activación mecánica por molienda hasta pasar por la malla N° 200 (75?m) para ambos materiales. Las materias primas activadas fueron llevadas a una caracterización química a nivel de óxidos por fluorescencia de rayos x (FRX) y también se obtuvo su potencial hidrógeno (pH). Al sustituir parcialmente al cemento se consiguió una resistencia de 332.3 kg/cm2 y 287.9 kg/cm2 a los 28 días, estando el primero un 4% por encima del patrón y el segundo 10% por debajo del patrón, para las sustituciones en 10% y 15% respectivamente.
