Efectividad del hongo Aspergillus niger en la biodegradación de polietileno de baja densidad

El problema actualmente y el más importante es el incremento de los residuos
plásticos, este problema es de gran importancia a nivel mundial, ya que es un
material muy utilizado para el consumo diario. Estos residuos causan daños a la
salud, ecosistemas, alterando el hábitat de muchos seres vivos y ocasionando la
muerte de animales acuáticos. El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como
objetivo general determinar la efectividad del hongo Aspergillus niger en la
biodegradación de polietileno de baja densidad. Para ello se utilizó una población
de 875 cm
de la bolsa de polietileno transparente, teniendo como muestra 10
láminas con un tamaño de 4 cm
2
cada una. Para el proceso de la biodegradación,
se logró aislar de una naranja putrefacta el hongo Aspergillus niger en agar PDA, y
luego de ello se le dio las condiciones óptimas de pH en un nivel de 5 a 6 al medio
de cultivo que contenía el biorreactor Air lift, teniendo como fuente de aireación una
pequeña bomba de pecera. El resultado fue eficiente, logrando determinar un
promedio de 6.9 % de biodegradación en todas las láminas de PEBD. La
temperatura de 20 ºC a 30 ºC y el pH adecuado, hace que el hongo se mantenga y
que el medio de cultivo no se contamine con otros microorganismos, mucho menos
se estropeé.
