Influencia del caucho reciclado en la mejora de la resistencia y durabilidad de una mezcla asfáltica en caliente, Lima 2019

Resumen
Esta investigación fue realizada con el fin de mejorar las propiedades de Resistencia y
Durabilidad de una mezcla asfáltica en caliente mediante la incorporación de caucho
reciclado, y de esta manera brindar una alternativa de solución a los problemas que
afectan en la carpeta asfáltica y consecuentemente con el problema ambiental.
Evaluadas las características de los agregados (fino y grueso) y del cemento asfáltico, así
como ensayo Marshall sobre la mezcla asfáltica convencional y modificado con caucho
a fin de evaluar su comportamiento físico-mecánico. Con los diseños óptimos de ambas
mezclas, se procedió a evaluar su comportamiento mediante los ensayos de
caracterización y desempeño: El Ensayo Lottman (ASSHTO T 283) y el Ensayo de
cántabro (MTC E 515) de pérdida por desgaste.
En los resultados se ha determinado que el caucho en un 1.0% influye adecuadamente en
la mejora de la Resistencia de una M.A.C, lo cual se demostró mediante el ensayo de
Lottman, obteniendo un resultado de 89.32%, valor que superó en un 8.18% a la M.A.C.
convencional que obtuvo un valor de 81.14%. caso contrario fue respecto a la propiedad
de Durabilidad de una M.A.C., se demostró mediante el ensayo de Cántabro que el caucho
reciclado en un 1.0% no influye en la mejora de dicha propiedad, obteniendo como
resultado un valor de 14.09% respecto a la M.A.C. convencional que obtuvo un valor de
6.98%, por sugerencias se realizó otra dosificación sin reducir el agregado fino,
trabajando con un 101% de mezcla, en la que se obtuvo un valor más favorable de
respecto al primero obteniendo un valor de 13.25% pero en ambos casos no mejora la
Durabilidad, esto debido a que el caucho influye disminuyendo las propiedades de
densidad de la mezcla asfáltica y por ende aumenta el porcentaje de vacíos de aire, estos
cambios físicos-mecánicos en la M.A.C. hace que sufra una mayor pérdida al desgaste
con respecto a la M.A.C. convencional; por lo tanto concluimos que en nuestra
investigación se pudo determinar que el caucho reciclado con 1.0% añadido por vía seca
favorece la resistencia al esfuerzo a la tracción indirecta, pero acelera externamente su
desintegración, esto se comprobó con los ensayos Lottman y Pérdida al Desgaste en el
ensayo Cántabro con el Equipo Abrasión – Los Ángeles.
