dc.description.abstractThe present work aimed to explore the perception of residents towards tourism. Study case Mirador El Calvario of Turi parish, Cuenca, Ecuador, for this the qualitative and reflective research approach of exploratory scope and crosssection was used, in this environment it is intended 1) to describe the current situation of the El Calvario viewpoint, 2) to identify the attitude of the residents towards the tourist activity of El Calvario viewpoint. Thus, data collection was used through semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The population to be studied will be the inhabitants of el Calvario viewpoint and to disagree with certain criteria the authorities and technicians of the parish, among the results are the little knowledge that residents have about how to promote tourism, but it is concluded that the attitude of residents is receptive, they know that, if tourism increases, the economy of the sector will be streamlined, basic services will be provided and the entry routes to the sector will be improved.
