Resumen
Background: Cervicalgia is the most frequent musculoskeletal disorder in clinical care in Ecuador. It causes pain and alteration in motor control resulting in maintained postures acquired by manufacturers in the workplace, that cause functional limitations that lead to decreases in people’s performance, health problems and absenteeism. Objective: To determine the cervical joint positioning error and pain in cervicalgia manufacturing workers of the company Grafisum in Cuenca. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample of 50 manufacturers hired by the company Grafisum. The data obtained were analyzed with the SPSS V15 program and Microsoft Excel 2019 for the elaboration of tables. Results: Ages between 37 and 47 years predominated (X =46.8) and the female sex was the most frequent with 64%. All participants presented pain, however, 50% had severe pain according to the Analog Visual Scale. In addition, 90% of the population presented cervical joint positioning error (JPSE) in the flexion movement, 88% in extension, 90% in right rotation and 84% in left rotation. Conclusions: Most of the workers had cervical pain-related JPSE, however, there were no significant differences between the intensity of pain and the manufacturers who have and not JPSE.
