Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common genetic disorders which definitely affects the quality of
life of atients who suffer from it; in recent years it has exacerbated considerably, to the point that
it has gone from being a lethal disease in childhood to being a chronic disease in adulthood. The
purpose of this study was to determine the quality of life of patients with cystic fibrosis at Vicente
Corral Moscoso hospital by applying the CFQ-R test. This is a descriptive study: the sample was
taken from patients admitted to Vicente Corral Moscoso hospital and the data was collected using
the CFQ-R test. The target population was characterized according to variables age, sex, weight,
height, disease progression time and type of cystic fibrosis. The results showed that 69.23% of
the participants comprised the 18-23 age range, without the predominance of sex; they show a
poor quality of life according to the CFQ-R test in regard to vitality, physical capability, and
respiratory symptoms; however, when correlating the indicated variables, no significant
relationship was found. The patients presented common pathological conditions and perceived
their quality of life in a negative way; their physical capability turned out to be the most affected
dimension, limiting their participation with the environment and other people.
