Balance in children with Down Syndrome (DS) is extremely important because, Gámez Calvo et al. (2022) mention that: "Gross motor skills in people with DS are inferior, being balance the skill that shows the greatest difference" (p.2). Therefore, poor balance can affect many areas of development, which is why it is necessary to work with play activities that appeal to and benefit children with disabilities. Thus, the main objective of this study is to develop playful games to improve balance in children with DS belonging to the Huiracocha Tutiven Neurodevelopment Center. The design of the present research is quasi-experimental of descriptive type, with a convenience sample composed of 15 children in total (8 boys and 7 girls) aged between 6 and 14 years old, to whom an intervention program for the improvement of balance based on the realization of different playful games obtained from literature reviews will be applied. To measure the state of balance of each child, the Berg test consisting of 14 items will be used at the beginning, during and at the end of the playful games program in order to compare the balance before, during and after applying the intervention program. The expected results of the research will show the effect of the playful games program on the balance of children with DS, and will also serve as a playful and didactic support for their teachers in conducting classes and activities.
