The plantar footprint can be affected by various factors; therefore, a timely analysis allows us to make an early diagnosis of foot alterations to prevent disorders. The objective is to identify the type of plantar footprint in school children from 10 to 15 years of age of the Escuela de Educación Básica Ignacio Escandón in the city of Cuenca in the period September 2022-February 2023. The study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. The type of plantar footprint was evaluated by means of the photo-podoscope, using the Hernández Corvo Index in its program to characterize the foot and the data were tabulated using Excel and the SPSS 22.0 program. The population was selected by non-probabilistic sampling, evaluating 75 students aged 10 to 15 years. A higher percentage of pes cavus was found with 56% in the right foot and 45.3% in the left foot. In the right foot there was a higher percentage of pes cavus in females than in males; in the left foot, the normal/cavus foot predominated in males and the cavus foot in females. At the age of 10 years, the cavus foot was greater in the right foot, while at 12 years of age it was greater in the left foot. There was a greater number of pes cavus in participants with a normal body mass index (BMI). Within the population studied, it was possible to determine that the predominant type of plantar footprint was the pes cavus.
