Pre-sports games are models adapted from sports, since they incorporate some elements, such as specific skills and abilities (Granja & Manosalvas, 2016). At the same time, it is evident that it has effects on students' self-esteem thanks to playful elements (Arruza et al., 2004). And it also brings with it positive effects on physical condition, such as aerobic resistance, strength, coordination. For this reason, the objective of this project was: to analyze the importance of compulsory courses and the effect of a pre-sport game program on self-esteem and physical condition (CF) of students of compulsory swimming courses at the University of Cuenca. A quasi-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional design without a control group was applied. The application of the games was carried out twice a week, with a duration of two hours each session during a period of four months. To measure the self-esteem of the students, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (EAR) test was applied, for which two specific moments were taken, the first moment was carried out prior to the application of the program and the second moment was taken at the end of the program. . the program. For the evaluation of the physical condition, the measurement test of the Eurofit Battery was used and in the same way it was applied before and after completing the program. With the results obtained, we were able to verify that the levels of physical condition had a significant change, as well as the level of self-esteem where 95% of the participants demonstrated a level of self-esteem between medium and high, thus leaving 5% at a low level. , being these data obtained in the post test. In this way we can verify the relevance of this type of activities and programs of pre-sports games for sport and those psychological aspects such as fear or failure.
