Resumen
Background: To measure joint range of motion (ROM), the universal goniometer is used as the gold standard. Thanks to technological advances, it has been possible to implement surgical health applications as well as digital goniometry (DG). Objective: To compare the range of joint movement with the Goniometer Pro® application and the Universal Goniometric in the flexoextension of the glenohumeral joint in the operating personnel of Continental S.A. Methodology: A cross-sectional analytical study was carried out. Flexoextension of the glenohumeral joint (GH) was measured in the personnel of the Continental S.A company using two methods: a universal goniometer and the Goniometer Pro® application. For data processing, the SPSS V.29 program was used. The data was related by means of the intraclass correlation index and the Pearson index. Results: The intraclass correlation for the Goniometer Pro® was 0.998 for flexion and 0.989 for extension. For the Universal Goniometer they were 0.99 and 0.953 for flexion and extension respectively. The correlation between both forms of measurement was statistically highly significant, with values above 0.9 of the Pearson correlation coefficient. Conclusions: The intraclass correlation for the measurements taken with the Goniometer Pro® application and the universal goniometer were excellent for the flexion-extension movement. Thus concluding that both methods are equally valid and very useful for the study of the assessment of joint movement range.
