Housing is the place where users perform their daily activities, and they are also structures that are part of the urban fabric of a city. However, currently, their planning and projection in the city are based on the use of peripheral land, which implies the expansion of the urban footprint. Additionally, solutions are made through stereotypical architectural programs of spatial occupation, which limits the appropriation of space by users, hindering the evolution of housing over time. In this context, this document identifies the perfectible housing developed in a consolidated area of a city as an alternative tool for insertion. It is a solution where users are involved in the design of the space they occupy. Moreover, by being located in a consolidated urban fabric, it prevents the expansion of the city. The document is developed as follows: The first part of the document presents the theoretical framework, which addresses concepts and strategies that are part of the perfectible housing developed in a consolidated urban fabric. Then, the second section analyzes related buil- ding models, necessary to abstract design tools. Finally, an alternative building model is projected with medium-height and high densities, which consists of perfectible, flexible, and adaptable properties, being together more sustainable tools for housing and city development.
