According to UNICEF data in Ecuador there are about 3300 institutionalized children, this population in vulnerable conditions is predisposing to generate alterations in their development, this as a result of their environment and the limitation in terms of stimulation during early childhood, generating changes in the white matter, especially in the corpus callosum, cingulum, radiated crown, and fornix crus. Therefore, the importance of this study, which allowed to assess the level of development presented by infants, and will serve as a basis for an early and multidisciplinary approach. This research aimed to determine the level of psychomotor development through the application of the Denver Test in children aged between 0 and 6 years, who are institutionalized in the Tadeo Torres Children's Home; it is quantitative and descriptive, the data tabulation and analysis of the results were processed in the SPSS 15 program; and the information was presented in tables using Excel. The sample consisted of 18 children aged between 0 and 6 years, institutionalized in the Tadeo Torres Children's Home (HITT) of which the following results were obtained: 88.9% of the population presented an altered psychomotor development, being the area of greatest affection gross motor skills, representing 33.33%; in addition, it was obtained that the male sex and the age group of 2 to 4 years were the population with the highest percentage of alteration.
