Resumen
Background: In 2019 in Wuhan, China, COVID-19 was discovered. A pandemic is
declared in March 2020. World public health covered the budget and science to counter it,
but there is little evidence on quality of care for diseases already established within COVID19 hospitals.
Objective: To describe the perception of patients with Diabetes in relation to the quality
of health care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials and Method: The study is qualitative, descriptive, uses semi-structured
interviews validated by experts after conducting pilot questions, analyzing the relevance
of the ATLAS ti node survey. In person, authorized interviews were conducted with 10
participants, achieving sample saturation that guarantees solidity for the study.
Results: The participants between 49 and 65 years old are half blood, mostly widowed
men, elementary education, different occupation and work situation, diagnosed with
Diabetes about 7 - 35 years ago, with complications exacerbated during the pandemic.
The perception of their disease in the pandemic was negative, added to socioeconomic
conditions and vulnerability situations that determined their health. The general perception
of quality of care was positive due to satisfaction and gratitude, but with cases of
dissatisfaction due to material resources and human treatment of nursing, imaging,
statistics and emergencies, evidencing suggestions and recommendations.
Conclusions: The quality of care has been aggravated in users with Diabetes within
COVID-19 hospitals such as Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Exacerbated situations of
access, care and social vulnerability reinforce the speeches of inefficiencies in the quality
of care.
