Estudio de Commodities como alternativas de inversión en el sector empresarial de la provincia de Chimborazo, año 2022

Abstract

This research work intends to carry out a study of commodities as investment alternatives for the business sector of Chimborazo province for the year 2022, which contributes to the development and implementation of new investment channels. The identification of the feasibility of raw materials as investment alternatives was carried out by collecting information through techniques and instruments defined in surveys of the agricultural sector of the province, in order to identify the level of ignorance on the issues. of investments and their several alternatives, for which it was proceeded to the selection of potential investors interested in structuring investment portfolios. Once the diagnostic process was completed and with the obtained results, it was possible to affirm the high level of ignorance of the selected population, which leads the structuring of the Markowitz model for the formation of investment portfolios made up of Agricultural, Energy and Metallic commodities. It is concluded that the elaboration of portfolios composed of these assets, provide investors with various portfolios, these were separated into 3 conglomerate portfolios and a pure portfolio, highlighting within the conglomerates the agricultural category while the most optimal is the pure portfolio. It is recommended that, in order to better understand the implication of the results presented, future research aimed at the implementation of investment portfolios could consider several mathematical models that help demonstrate the feasibility of implementing commodities within investment portfolios.
