dc.description.abstract | The objective of this degree work was to repower the temperature controller and the development of a maintenance plan in the Faculty of Mechanics. In the first place, on-site visits were carried out, through a technical file characteristic such as continuity and electrical variables were measured to determine possible breakdowns, secondly; technical information was collected for the operation and maintenance of the equipment, through analysis of catalogs and controller manuals. Thirdly, the asset was strengthened through the implementation of specialized corrective activities in electricity, mechanics, and industrial control. Finally, performance tests were carried out through the analysis of Brinell hardness tests on metals: AISI 1018 and Steel 705 SAE 4340, under dimensions that oscillate between 1,190 and 2,570 in the holes of the specimens. The equipment has better performance with the auto-tuning configuration itself, which has an error +- of the real value. The furnace has the capacity to perform tempering at 850, the reference values of hardness obtained are 253.21 and 616.51 compared to the Vickers test, which is 1150. Additionally, a manual for the operation of the controller with four important points is proposed things to consider: caution, screen commands, and operability. In conclusion, there is better availability and functionality of the furnace in the foundry to develop heat treatment practices, so that the asset can be used under conditions of acceptable efficiency and fidelity in temperature delivery. It is recommended to apply the preventive maintenance suggested in this technical work, mainly in elements such as: controller, contactor, thermocouple, switch, and energization indicator, to keep the asset in constant operation. | |
