Resumen
The present research was analyzed with the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of seawater as a mineral enhancer in the last third of gestation in crossbred goats at the Tunshi Experimental Station, to determine the biological behavior of the goat and kid goat. In the goat, weight difference, body condition, calving ease, placental retention and maternal ability were evaluated. In the kid goat, the time it takes them to stand up, weight at birth and at one month, vitality and stature were estimated. The research was carried out at the Tunshi Experimental Station, Faculty of Livestock Sciences, under a Randomized Complete Block Design with a balanced model, analyzed by means of Excel with Tukey's test (p<0. 05) and Chi-Square, for which four treatments and three replicates were used, the levels of sea water were 0ml (T0), 5ml (T1), 10ml (T2) and 15ml (T3) intravenously. The research was carried out in a total of 12 experimental units and the development time of the work was 57 days. At the end of the statistical analysis, there was no significant difference in any assigned treatment. The best treatments numerically superior were the following: In goats, weight difference (T2) with an average of -5.08 kg, CC before and the first stage of lactation (T1) with 2.90 and 2.27 respectively; higher weight gain in pups (T1) with an average of 5.98 kg weekly gain, (T1) provided 40.43 cm in average height, no mortality was recorded and the highest final average weight was (T1) with 7.18 kg. It is concluded that the seawater levels applied in this research are not productive in goats. It is recommended to experiment at other levels or in other animal species to observe the effectiveness as a potential mineral-productive and its use as a nutritional supplement.
