Resumen
The purpose of this degree work was the design and implementation of an alternator test bench to
obtain the characteristic curves of amperage and voltage, determining its functional status through
the technical diagnosis of the alternators. With the design of the structure, assembly of the
mechanical, electrical, and electronic system, the test bench was implemented, to subsequently
collect data from the alternators through the Lab VIEW software, this serves as an interface for
the visualization of the graphs of the desired curves in real time, this was achieved thanks to the
automation of the entire assembly, controlling the variables of current, voltage and revolutions,
obtaining precise data for a better analysis. Several tests were carried out on some alternators with
similar characteristics, the fidelity of said data was confirmed by comparing the computerized test
reports of alternators with serial production and the data. It is concluded that the test bench works
adequately by producing a graph similar to the curves of the series alternators. It is recommended
that, for future implementations of alternator test benches, the designs support modifications in
their control variables, since in this work they were not considered due to high execution costs.
