Resumen
The aim of this research was to evaluate and implement measures to control ergonomic risks using the ROSA and RULA method in the administrative area of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Province of Orellana. The research was field-based and exploratory and descriptive. First, the diagnosis of the skeletal muscle symptoms of the staff was made, using the Nordic questionnaire to detect possible initial symptoms of a work-related illness; which consisted of 112 workers, drawing a sample of 87 workers, providing 95% reliability. On the one hand, the ROSA (Rapid Office Strain Assessment) method was designed to quantify the risks associated with working with peripherals; the result was that all 87 workers were at level 3 (action is needed as soon as possible), reflecting 100% of the population evaluated; on the other hand, the RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) method showed that 29 workers (33%) were at level 3 (requiring changes in the short term). It was concluded that the body parts most affected within the staff are the upper extremities: neck, elbow, shoulders, hands, back; of which the neck and right hand were the most vulnerable areas of the workers and therefore the Ergonomic Risk Prevention Management Plan for the GAD of the Province of Orellana was implemented. It is recommended to improve or replace both furniture and office equipment to mitigate skeletal muscle disorders in workers, and to perform active breaks to mitigate physical postural problems due to work activity in these units.
