dc.description.abstractThe present research proposes an integrated management for the micro watershed of the San Pedro River, Canton Mejia, through the evaluation of water resources that are an asset for the people who are part of the surroundings of the micro watershed. This study entails great challenges for the whole community and its authorities; therefore a consensus that implies the Sumak Kawsay where the preservation and sustainable use of the natural resources of the study area and the harmony of the population stand out. Studies have been carried out with in-situ analysis methodology by survey - by means of surveys carried out in the closest populations to the micro-watershed. by means of surveys carried out in the closest populations such as El Chaupi, Aloasi and Machachi and laboratory analysis; which allowed concluding the soil quality of coarse sand that favors agriculture and a low water quality since they exceed the maximum permissible limits of BOD5, COD and phosphates upstream of the micro-watershed, according to the current environmental regulations concluding that the main ones are agricultural, residential, industrial and commercial, present throughout the upstream of the micro-watershed.
