Resumen
Vehicular traffic is a problem that occurs in many cities worldwide, to find solutions to this problem, in smart cities, some tools have been proposed to manage the flow of vehicular congestion. In the present investigation, a state of the art has been done out with systematic mapping, to collect and process the most outstanding studies of journals and conferences from the repositories with the best information published between the years 2018 to 2022. Through systematic literature review, solutions to vehicular traffic were analyzed, to classify them in communication networks and other technological applications within intelligent transport systems. The taxonomy showed the tools (systems, mechanisms, models and schemes) together with the most used algorithms, highlighting performance metrics in its results. The most used metric was: package delivery rate, and according to the average the quantitative data were: systems = 80.2 %, mechanisms = 66.8 %, models = 87% and schemes = 95 %. Therefore, the results reveal that the models have a better average compared to other tools to manage vehicular traffic, excluding the average of the schemes since there is only one study that makes use of this metric.
