Resumen
The following degree work "Validation of bolted joints subjected to tension, bending and tension loads by means of a specialized design software", allows the study of the design and simulation of a telecommunications tower, establishing all the conditions such as loads, live, dead among others, also the weight of the structure and characteristics of the material must be taken into account which allows to introduce the parameters within the software.
The objective of the study is to demonstrate basic concepts of metallic structures and to establish analytical calculations, taking into account standards such as ASTM for profiles and bolts, as well as loads such as antennas. Valid data for loads and stresses will be obtained in order to compare them by means of a simulation program which allows establishing parameters and developing an identical connection sample.
The values obtained from the program together with the analytical values are entered into the specialized software to develop similar connections, in order to obtain the ratios, in this case of two bolted connections, such as the mullion-mullion and diagonal-mullion connection.
The results established that the ratios of the two connections are related to the values that the design and simulation programs showed us, which allows us to establish a percentage of error, which we obtained a percentage of 8%. But one of the limitations are the types of connections, since in order to establish different connections the program does not recognize them and shows a limited number of connections.
In conclusion, the reliability of the specialized design software is established, but only for study methods, and for the labor field its use is limited or not very significant.
