Resumen
The present investigation analyzes the carbon footprint that is generated in different Salesian works in the city of Quito using the ISO 14064 standard, studying and examining the different environmental aspects. As part of the methodology, different environmental aspects were identified where the limits in each of the scopes established by the standard stand out. For the data collection, it must be taken into account that it is necessary to extract real data and relate the information of the activity with the emission factor, so that the result of the carbon footprint has more exact results. Carrying out activities related to obtaining data such as: characterization of solid waste, delimitation of areas, analysis of electricity, water and fuel sheets, counting the number of collaborators and surveys to know their mobilization, with the final result being the quantification measured in tons. of CO2. The results obtained show that the Salesian work with the highest carbon footprint is the "Don Bosco Salesian Technical College" with 860.99 tons CO2eq, thus showing a per capita value of 0.41. With respect to category 1, the highest value in tons of CO2eq has the "Mi Patio Reference Center", in category 2 the "Fundación Proyecto Salesiano Chicos de la Calle" predominates; in category 3 the work “UESPA – TESPA” predominates and for category 4 the “Colegio Técnico Salesiano Don Bosco Kennedy”. Finally, with the results obtained, an assessment can be made for the preparation and implementation of an Environmental Management Plan (PGA).
