dc.descriptionOn 20 July 1848 the Declaration of Sentiments was proclaimed in the American town of Seneca Falls in demand of the women´s right to vote. This was a distinctive foundational moment for feminism as a collective emancipatory movement, mostly based on the arguments included in the Declaration of Independence of 1776 and on its impact in the abolitionist movement. The main objective of this article is to assess the relevance of the concept of citizenship included, not only in the declaration itself, but also and in the way that such concept helped molding the feminist movement in terms of its interpretation of this foundational moment. It is our understanding that, in approaching this question from the perspective of the most recent developments of the theory of affect, we will be able to define a specific concept of feminist citizenship capable of revealing the innovative political role of such movement. en-US
dc.descriptionEl 20 de Julio de 1848 se proclamó en la localidad norteamericana de Seneca Falls la Declaration of Sentiments en demanda del voto femenino. Se trata ciertamente de un momento fundacional del feminismo como movimiento colectivo emancipatorio sostenido en gran medida en argumentos incluídos en la Declaración de la Independencia de 1776 y en los efectos de ese texto sobre el movimiento abolicionista. El objetivo central de este trabajo consiste en dar cuenta del concepto de ciudadanía contenido, tanto en la declaración misma, como en el modo en que ayudó a figurar el movimiento feminista al ser interpretada en tanto su momento de origen. Entiendo que si nos aproximamos a esta cuestión desde los desarrollos más recientes de la teoría de los afectos podremos definir un concepto de ciudadanía feminista específico capaz de iluminar el rol político del movimiento. es-ES
