De la asimilación a la resistencia : disputas en torno al pasado entre la población indígena de Los Toldos (provincia de Buenos Aires)

El análisis enfoca en el reciente proceso de revisibilización de la identidad y organización indígenas en localidades bonaerenses que integraron el espacio de la frontera a mediados del siglo XIX y que constituyeron específicamente los sitios de asentamiento de las tribus integradas al régimen de 'indios amigos'. Este proceso refiere al carácter excluyente de su trayectoria de incorporación a la sociedad nacional, así como a diferentes factores que conforman en la actualidad un contexto específico. Centrándonos en el caso de la 'Tribu del cacique mapuche Ignacio Coliqueo' en Los Toldos, y partiendo de la historia de las relaciones interétnicas en tierras pampeanas, el artículo apunta a caracterizar el contexto de surgimiento de nuevas agrupaciones aborígenes y a analizar los usos del pasado en sus discursos. Tal objetivo involucra una serie de propuestas teóricas que se vinculan con la conformación de identidades y memorias indígenas dentro de procesos de producción de hegemonía y los espacios de disputa y controversia que éstos habilitan.
