Rendimiento de un aireador de lecho móvil con difusor, en la transferencia de oxigeno atmosférico al agua

La finalidad principal de esta investigación, fue evaluar el efecto del flujo de aire y la
presencia de relleno móvil en el rendimiento de transferencia de oxígeno (Rto) que presenta
un sistema de oxigenación de agua. El sistema de oxigenación combina un difusor de aire
comprimido; que genera burbujas finas en el agua contenida en un recipiente, con relleno de
polietileno; que constituye un lecho móvil en el agua. El Rto se definió como la razón de masa
de oxígeno transferido al agua, y la masa de aire suministrado a través del difusor. Los
experimentos de oxigenación se desarrollaron con y sin la presencia de relleno, en un
volumen de 36.7 L de agua previamente desoxigenada, a los flujos de aire de 4 L/min y 6
L/min. En los experimentos con la presencia de relleno, la masa empleada de este material
fue de 5 kg. Durante las pruebas se colectaron las mediciones de concentración de oxígeno
disuelto y temperatura. Con los datos se observó que la concentración de oxígeno disuelto en
el agua, aumenta durante la oxigenación hasta su saturación y, presenta un comportamiento
semejante al propuesto por la teoría de la doble película para oxigenación. Se concluye que,
a bajas concentraciones de oxígeno disuelto en el agua, la presencia de relleno provoca que
el rendimiento de transferencia de oxígeno se incremente cuando el flujo de aire es 4 L/min.
Mientras que a 6 L/min, la presencia del relleno ocasiona un comportamiento opuesto. Y
estadísticamente estos efectos son significantes.
