Evaluación de la subsidencia inducida por la extracción de mineral para determinar la estabilidad del Pique Mascota y Central en la U.M. Yauricocha

Este trabajo de investigación se realizó en Minera “Sociedad Minera Corona
S.A.”, mina “Yauricocha”, que está ubicado en el distrito de Alis, por la
provincia de Yauyos, en Lima, cerca de 12 km al Sur de la Estación
Pachacayo del Ferrocarril Central, en el flanco Oeste de la Cordillera
Occidental de los Andes y en las nacientes de uno de los afluentes del rio
Cañete en la Sierra Central. A altitud que varía entre los 4150 m.s.n.m. y los
4700 m.s.n.m.
El presente trabajo resume los resultados del estudio de subsidencia de
mina Yauricocha, requerido por Sierra Metals Inc. (Sierra Metales) en nombre
de la Minera Corona (Corona). En este estudio se han completado todas las
actividades necesarias para desarrollar un estudio de la subsidencia inducida
por la extracción de minerales desde el subsuelo terrestre. En este reporte se
describen todas las actividades desarrolladas por el equipo técnico, las
principales conclusiones de la condición actual, así como los resultados
obtenidos de las diferentes simulaciones numéricas.
Durante un periodo de tres meses, el grupo técnico Corona han
desarrollado diferentes actividades tales como la implementación y control de
un sistema robótico de toma de datos topográficos para el monitoreo de
movimientos en superficie, mapeo topográfico de grietas en superficie, modelo
estructural de fallas mayores, inspección de daños en labores subterráneas
(excavaciones antiguas y actuales), inspección geotécnica de los piques
Mascota y Central y revisión de detalle de grietas de superficie. Todo lo
anterior con el objetivo de desarrollar un modelo de subsidencia que represente la condición actual y con la suficiente resolución para ser usado
como base para la calibración de modelos numéricos.
Este estudio cumple con los requerimientos establecidos por Sierra
Metals/Corona y entrega una base de ingeniería para responder con las
recomendaciones vertidas por el equipo técnico de Osergmin, Perú, para
establecer el efecto de subsidencia sobre la estabilidad de los Piques mascota
y Central.
